Membership Committee
The role of the Membership Committee is to oversee the administrative procedures for all new and existing members as well as manage all membership applications. We maintain all member records electronically and receive and record payments of membership dues and work shift credit. The Membership Committee is also here to answer any questions and requests for further information having to do with all things membership related. The Branding/Marketing Committee
The Branding/Marketing Committee oversees the visual, verbal, and emotional expression of the Greene Hill Food Co-op brand identity. We are a group of designers, strategists, writers, and marketing professionals committed to creatively publicizing the co-op and deepening our membership. Business/Finance Committee
The business/finance committee develops and manages the business plan and financial forecasting related to getting Greene Hill up and running and economically sustainable. We also manage the relationship with pro-bono legal counsel on the corporate organization of Greene Hill.If you are interested (or experienced in finance, development, corporate governance, grant-writing or fundraising) please reach out to either co-chair.

Governance Committee
The Governance Committee is tasked with ensuring that the Co-op complies with local, state, and federal law, as well as our own bylaws. The Governance Committee runs monthly Board meetings and the Annual Meeting, and conducts interim Board/officer elections as needed. It also assists with getting necessary permits and licenses. Governance also seeks to maximize our organizational capacity through occasional formal strategic planning meetings, ongoing informal project management efforts, and a variety of process suggestions.Chairs: Amanda Goad, Giselle Sperber

Information Technology Committee
The scope of the IT Committee includes back-end systems, like our member database, and in-store systems, such as inventory and checkout. We need help with many complex tasks, including integration of our systems with our website and augmenting open-source systems to work for our Co-op. If you have experience and interest in these areas, please contact us.

Design/Buildout Committee
The Design/Build Committee is tasked with the design and construction of the store, including both its short-term build-out and its long-term master plan.

Merchandising Committee
The Merchandising Committee is tasked with identifying and fulfilling the diverse grocery needs of our community. Based on Membership buying patterns and requests we work with our vendors to provide the fullest shopping experience possible as the Co-op grows. We take into account buying principles that adhere to our Co-op Mission Statement and strive to work with local established food co-ops, farmers, distributors, and equipment vendors. In addition to deciding which items to carry and which sellers to buy from we also negotiate pricing, coordinate deliveries and payments, and manage store inventory, layout, and shrinkage. Whether we are speaking of eggs, soap or ketchup, the conversations are the same. If you are interested in helping us achieve our mission, please email us.

Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee aims to raise awareness of the Greene Hill Food Co-op in Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Bed-Stuy, and surrounding communities. We spearhead the Co-op’s membership campaign, manage press relations, make community partnerships and spread the word about the Co-op through our presence at community events.Please contact us if you are interested in helping get the word out about the Co-op in your neighborhood. It can be a simple as tabling at local events and distributing flyers, or you may have connections in schools, parent groups, churches, or other groups that could benefit from membership in the Co-op. We also need help with events, writing for the newsletter, and talking to the media.

Education Committee
The mission of the Education Committee is to reach out to the Greene Hill community by creating educational programs for children and adults that teach basic nutrition and practical food purchasing and preparation skills through online video and community gatherings.

Website Committee
The Website Committee is tasked with maintenance and expansion of our website so that it remains an up-to-date source of information for our community and helps our Co-op manage a large and growing group of Members and information. We strive to create a place where Members and neighbors can connect and socialize with each other and share their love of good, healthy food. In addition to things like regular text updates we research and implement new web technologies that will help us achieve these goals.
